Cover Up Acne With The Use Of Face Tanning Lotions

By Haywood Hunter

There aren't many teenagers that haven't complained, at one time or another, about an acne problem. For a teenager, a break out right before a big social function can be disastrous. When a teen is not dealing with just a couple of pimples, but rather their whole face being covered, it can be even more disastrous. This is where face tanning lotions provide a quick solution to the problem.

It is often suggested to spend as much time as possible bathing in the sun or tanning bed if you want to get rid of an acne problem. Another suggestion is to spend a lot of time in chlorinated pool water to dry up some of the oil in the skin. Research does not support any of these claims, but many people still swear by them as the best remedy.

There are a few problems when it comes to using these methods. One problem is the over exposure to the UV rays from tanning because they increase the risk of skin cancer. The chlorine in pool water is also a problem because it has the tendency to excessively dry out the skin. Overly dry skin can be just as acne prone as oily skin. Face tanning lotions are quicker and more safe than other methods and can be used while treatment is being used to clear up the problem.

Makeup is a common go to solution for an acne problem as well, but the overall effectiveness of this method is lacking. Face tanning lotions cover problematic skin much more effectively. By having a tanned skin tone, pimples are easier to disguise and there isn't so much focus on them when they are on the face or the body.

Face tanning lotions will help conceal the redness and inflammation and reduce the visibility of zits compared to paler skin shades. By covering up the redness with face tanning lotions, most of the attention the problem draws is hidden. After you have hidden the redness, the bumps are even easier to hide. It is actually the swelling and discoloration that most people have the larger problem with. It is the symptom that causes the face to have blotches and to look far from healthy. The pimple itself isn't so much of a problem once everything is is dealt with.

Face tanning lotions should be applied in a thin layer. This is a much lighter application than one would need to use with makeup to get the same results. Face tanning lotions do not clump around pimples and cause dry flaking. This is what attracts attention to them when using makeup. Alternatively, face tanning lotions cover over the pimples and leave no traces of evidence upon drying.

Concealers are available with claims that they can cover any blemish, but in reality they are only effective on things like dark circles under the eyes. Foundation is also needed when using concealer so that the color can be blended in evenly. With the addition of the makeup, you are right back at the beginning of the problem with flakes again.

Face tanning lotions were meant to be used for safe tanning purpose, but they have emerged as a safe acne coverage method as well. The skin doesn't dry out and the acne problem doesn't get worse in the process. Face tanning lotions are light in application and make the skin look healthy.
