The 2 Important Types Involved In Breast Implants

By Scott White

A type of process in prosthesis that involves the changing of contour, size, and shape of breasts is called as a breast implant. Fore reconstructive plastic surgeries, these breast implants are being placed to be able to do some restoration in the breasts, thus, will make it look natural. Usually, these are being applied to those patients who previously undergone the process of mastectomy or for people whom the chest walls have some deformities or congenital defects.

The devices to be utilized for this breast implant have three classifications that would include the saline solution, composite filler, and the silicone gel. In breast implants Michigan, two common type are only utilized for mammoplasty, breast reconstruction, and breast augmentation procedures. The two types are silicone implant where in this is using gels and saline solution where in saline solution is used.

In Michigan, the most commonly used type for prosthesis by most devices is the saline implant for the augmentation of breasts. This is because the silicone filled implants have been restricted by the FDA for some reasons. Its technical goal is making it a lesser invasive technique of surgery to emplace an empty device through the small surgical incision.

For a surgical praxis, when the implants are already emplaced in the pockets, each device will then be filled by the surgeon with the saline solution. Since the insertion incisions are required to be short and be small, the result of incision scars surely would be shorter and smaller as well compared to the usual surgical scars with long incisions which are required for the insertion of gel.

If these types are to be compared with silicone gel types, for sure, these would yield much better and acceptable results for an increased size, thus, the result would be smoother, having realistic texture and hemisphere contour. However, having the surgery may also cause side effects and one of which are cosmetic problems. Cosmetic problems include accelerated lower pole stretches and also envelope skins are wrinkled and rippled.

Other problems on this are the technical problems that would include the implants presence, thus, making it visible to eyes and can be felt when touched. The cosmetic problems would most likely occur only when a woman has little tissues. For women who have previous experiences on post mastectomy, the use of silicone gels are suggested for the prosthetic devices in both breasts augmentation and reconstruction.

However, the gels, as one type of a medical device technology, has 5 generations. Each of this generation can be defined by specific techniques in model manufacturing. First generation is made of rubber envelope sac. The shape is the same as to a teardrop and filled in with silicone gels. For a reduction of emplacement rotation on the chest wall, it will be affixed to pockets by using fastener patches.

Second one is featuring the aesthetic improvements and the functional developments of the product. The third and the fourth generations are the sequential advances of manufacturing technology. The technologies may include the shells coated with elastomer for the decrease in gel bleed and also a thicker filler gel.

And in fifth generation, a high strength cohesive gel is used. This will eliminate filler leakage occurrences. And also, eliminates silicone filler migrations in pockets. Another term for these implants is gummy bear breasts implant since the features are very similar to gummy bears.
